Positions available:
Friday Teacher (guaranteed 8 hours/week plus)
Supply Teacher – be on call to assist one of our teachers in a forest school setting, in our junior or senior classes.
Opportunities for future employment i.e. March break, summer camp and full time teaching for 2022-2023 school year.
($18 – $20/hour depending on experience)
Experience working with children, in an educational or recreational setting.
ECE or OCT certification or related degree is an asset, but not necessary.
Duties include
-opening/closing
-general cleaning/organizing
-supporting grade 1-8 students in academic, social and emotional growth through advising, teaching and tutoring students in our unique environment
-assist with supervision in the woods and classroom
-assist in development of activities/group projects
You are someone who is:
-comfortable spending time outdoors in all weather
-comfortable working in an environment that has large portions of time that is unstructured
-fun, reliable, open, caring, compassionate, patient, able to ‘let go’ of adult privilege and supportive of a child-lead, democratic environment
-flexible and can act without direction
-able to support children in their own learning plans, and comfortable working with children with a variety of needs
-take the initiative to plan and contribute to activities, relevant to children’s
-able to work as a team with a full time facilitator
-open to on the job training
